Oakwell Advisory
A calm, credible new site for an independent financial advisory firm that had outgrown its first template.
The challenge
Oakwell’s old site was built in a weekend when the firm launched. Six years and three advisers later, it still said “coming soon” on the services page and took eight seconds to load on a phone.
Prospective clients were arriving from referrals, glancing at the site, and never getting in touch. The team suspected the website was undoing the trust their clients had built for them.
The approach
We started with a single question: what does a nervous first-time investor need to see before they book a call? The answer shaped the structure. Plain-English service pages, real faces for every adviser, and fees shown up front instead of hidden.
The design uses a warm serif and soft coral accents to feel approachable rather than corporate. Every page ends with one clear next step, and the booking form asks only what the advisers actually need.
What I built
- 01
Adviser profiles
A page per adviser with specialisms, qualifications and a direct booking link.
- 02
Transparent fees
A simple fee table replaced a PDF nobody downloaded.
- 03
Short booking form
Four fields instead of eleven, routed to the right adviser automatically.
- 04
Speed first
Lightweight pages that load in under a second on mobile.
The results
“It finally feels like the firm we actually are. Clients mention the website in their first meeting now, for the right reasons.”
